H1N1 Vaccine recall: School clinics end (VIDEO)

H1N1 school vaccination clinics come to a close this evening. A record number of Swine Flu vaccinations were given during this campaign, considerably more than the national average which is between 20-30%.  Rhode Island’s Health Director Dr. David Gifford says he’s very pleased with the way they’ve turned out. In Rhode Island, 73% of the children were vaccinated against the H1N1 virus and 65% of pregnant women were vaccinated.

Rhode Island is however, concerned about the current H1N1 Swine Flu Vaccine Recall that was issued today for 6-35 month olds. Rhode Island sent out 11,000 of the less than potent vaccines. If your child did receive one of those recalled H1N1 doses, there’s no need to worry. They’re safe, there’s nothing wrong with it, there’s no side effects, it’s just that the vaccines weren’t as potent as they were supposed to be.
